West Babylon, NY (June 29, 2022) – Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) is proud to announce the recipients of the 11th annual Young Professionals Network (YPN) 20 Under 40 Rising Stars in Real Estate Awards. The class of 2022 was honored at the Association’s awards ceremony at the Crest Hollow Country Club on June 28, 2022.
This year’s honorees adapted and persevered through both the challenges of a changing world and extraordinary sales growth in real estate to exceptionally meet their clients’ needs and achieve their goals.
Since 2011, LIBOR’s YPN has been recognizing young members making an extraordinary difference in the real estate industry and their communities. As in previous years, members of the 20 Under 40 class of 2022 cover a diverse range of business and personal experiences. They’ve started their own companies or now operate family-owned brokerages, others have used decade-long finance, marketing, and photography careers to propel them to success in real estate.
This year’s finalists have strong roots in their communities, many have spearheaded philanthropic efforts to fight hunger and homelessness, and have championed environmental preservation. One finalist serves his community as a Nassau County Police Officer. A commonality shared by all is that they’re working to close economic and housing gaps by educating and advocating for building wealth through homeownership.
"Congratulations to the remarkable 20 Under 40 Rising Stars in Real Estate honorees,” said YPN President John McSherry. “Through unprecedented times coming out of a pandemic, the Class of 2022 has shown resilience, leadership, and exemplary works of community involvement. They have gone above and beyond for their clients and communities, and truly take pride in being a REALTOR®.”
It is with great honor that LIBOR celebrates the accomplishments of these young entrepreneurs who are making a difference in the real estate profession.

The 2022 applicants were chosen by the YPN selection committee, competing among a group of well-qualified candidates, for their excellence in the areas of sales production, leadership, and community involvement. The committee strives to ensure they have a diverse group of finalists in terms of business niches, gender, ethnic background, and geographic location. Additionally, the committee looks for compelling stories — such as interesting business strategies or obstacles overcome - in choosing recipients.
The 450 guests in attendance also had the opportunity to celebrate 2020 and 2021 Rising Star recipients who were honored throughout the evening as this was the first in-person awards event held by the division since 2019. YPN past President Melissa Gomez was also recognized as this year’s recipient of the YPN Lifetime Achievement Award for her incomparable leadership and dedication to LIBOR’s YPN since its formation in 2010.
