Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) continues to work diligently to create lasting communication lines with International Associations across the world through the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MOU).
On November 11 and 12, 2022, during the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Annual Conference and Expo, LIBOR signed MOUs with Cambodian Valuers and Estate Agents Association (CVEA), Georgian National Association of Real Estate (GNARE), Japan-America Real Estate Coalition Office (JARECO), Latin American Real Estate Confederation (CILA), and Conselho Federal de Corretores de Imóveis (COFECI) in Brazil. The MOUs establish each Association’s cooperation in developing a mutually beneficial relationship for their respective members.
The recently signed agreements create an open line of communication and affirm the value of international collaboration between the associations. Through these relationships, the associations are committed to sharing market data, real estate procedures, and relevant licensing and foreign investment laws; promoting inbound and outbound investments; adopting and adhering to the NAR Code of Ethics; and providing information about local education, events, and conferences.
LIBOR currently has 30 MOUs in place with associations from twenty-one countries, including Argentina, Bahamas, Brazil, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Georgia, Ghana, India, Jamaica, Japan, Mongolia, Nigeria, Panama, Philippines, Romania, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Trinidad & Tobago, and Ukraine.
“LIBOR is honored to establish partnerships with these like-minded Associations, which will help achieve our common goal of providing international business opportunities to all of our members,” said LIBOR President Kevin Loiacono. “We look forward to continuing to expand globally with our membership reach and strengthening our relationships with our existing partners.”
