Long Island Board of REALTORS® Presents 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award to Frank DellAccio

Nov 26, 2014

The Long Island Board of REALTORS®, Inc. (LIBOR) is proud to announce that the honored 2014 Lifetime Achievement Award has been presented to Frank DellAccio Jr., for her unwavering dedication to LIBOR /MLSLI and the real estate industry for over thirty five years. The announcement was made at the association’s Annual Installation and Awards Dinner held on November 25, 2014 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.

Frank DellAccio Jr. started his real estate career in January 1976 working for his father at AA Realty in Massapequa, a start up real estate company founded by Frank Sr. AA Realty then joined the newly formed Century21 franchise system. In May 1977, they opened a Suffolk office in Lindenhurst and then located their Nassau, Massapequa office to Seaford. After selling for two years and completing several sales management courses Frank began managing the Suffolk office and in 1982, he became a partner in the firm.   Today he remains a managing partner with his brother Vincent.

In 2006 Century21 AA Realty was awarded the coveted 2100 Art Bartlett Cup which is awarded to only one Century21 firm in the nation each year for sales production, leadership, community involvement and use of technology.    He is also a recipient of the Tasso Award for his contributions as an MLS Director.

Frank has served on many MLS and LIBOR committees for over 25 years and has chaired most of them at one time or another, including Rules and Procedures, Technology, Field Issues, Grievance, Professional Standards and Bylaws.

He is always asked to serve on special committees or Task Forces on challenging issues because any President wants to “see what Frank thinks”. Some of these include Data Sharing, Content Security, Purchase Offer Contracts and Governance just to name a few.

He has served as a member of the Executive Committee for the Long Island Board of Realtors® as Secretary and as Suffolk County Vice President and is also a past NYSAR Director. Frank also served on the MLS Executive Committee for ten years in various positions.

On the national level, Frank was appointed to the National Association of Realtors® MLS Policy Committees, as well as their Long Range Planning Committee.    More recently, as a result of Super Storm Sandy flood damage and rising homeowner’s insurance rates, Frank was selected to serve on a Presidential Advisory Group dealing with flood concerns and its impact and effect on homeownership.

Frank is committed to education at all levels.   Holder of the CRS, CRB and GRI designations, he promotes learning in his office and bringing back information to the board.   A recent example was the information brought back from his NAR flood insurance PAG experience. He briefed LIBOR/MLS Board of Directors and even more, developed a CE approved course which he personally and frequently delivered in our service centers. The quality of his programs and presentation continuously earn rave reviews.

Frank has been involved in his community as a sponsor in senior citizen centers in the Town of Babylon. He is a supporter for the New York State “Parents As Reading Partners” program in the Lindenhurst Schools and volunteers in local school PTA’s as a liaison business member for the community. He is a member of the Lindenhurst Chamber of Commerce and was honored as Businessman of the Year by Lindenhurst Schools. Most recently, he presented a flood insurance awareness program and its effect on residents sponsored by the Town of Babylon. He is truly a dedicated and respected Realtor® and a valuable asset to his community and the real estate industry.
