The Long Island Board of REALTORS®, Inc. (LIBOR) is honored to announce that the prestigious 2015 Lifetime Achievement Award has been presented to Johnette Correia, for her exceptional dedication and over forty years in the real estate industry. The announcement was made on November 24, 2015 at the association’s Annual Installation and Awards Dinner held at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
Johnette Correia has dedicated a large portion her life to be a successful Realtor®. While raising her family, Johnette established her own real estate business in 1975. As an active Long Island Board of Realtors® Member, Johnette has served as a Director for the Jamaica Central Queens Chapter for many years, helping develop the Chapter into a flourishing networking and educational resource for others in the community.
Johnette understood the value of networking and linked it with her personal commitment to raising Realtors®’ awareness of the value of education. She “lobbied” for a Realtor® Service Center in Queens, to bring education “closer to home” and her efforts paid off when the Queens Center opened its doors in 1994.
Johnette was a proponent of offering designation courses, and was a persistent advocate for bringing the Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation course to the Queens Realtor® Service Center. She was equally involved in bringing more Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity courses to Queens, as well.
She served at various times on LIBOR’s Board of Directors as well as on the Multiple Listing Service Board of Directors, and was always willing to help others put together their transactions when things didn’t go smoothly between brokers and their buyers and sellers.
With 40 years of experience as a Realtor®, Johnette was awarded Realtor® Emeritus status by the National Association of Realtors®, due to her hard work, dedication and accomplishments.
Our industry is constantly changing but somehow Johnette remains consistent; demonstrating her advocacy, her love of Queens, and her concern for her fellow Realtors®, all of this achieved with an abundance of class.
Long Island Board of REALTORS®, Inc. (LIBOR) is a not-for-profit trade association and the fourth-largest local REALTOR® board in the United States, with approximately 30,000 members. Since 1910, LIBOR has served real estate professionals in Queens, Nassau, and Suffolk counties seeking career advancement, community engagement, homeownership advocacy, and unwavering professional standards.
