Matthew was sworn into office by his oldest brother John Arnold, who flew in from Florida for the occasion. Also on-hand with special remarks was friend and mentor Jim Netter, broker/owner of Netter Real Estate. Matthew will serve as the 79th President of the Long Island Board of REALTORS®.
Matthew Arnold has been a member of the LIBOR since 1999, and is an Associate Real Estate Broker of Netter Real Estate in West Islip. From a young age, Matthew knew he wanted to become a REALTOR®. His reverence and love for his community has helped him to excel in his career in real estate for over 20 years.
Matthew has served on the LIBOR Board of Directors intermittently for the past 15 years, most recently as Suffolk Vice President in 2018 and currently as President-elect. He served as President and Vice President of LIBOR’s South Shore Chapter as well as a director since 2003. Matthew chaired the RPAC and Public Relations Committees, and has served on many other committees including, Professional Standards, Legislative, Housing Opportunity and Nominating Committee.
On the national and state level, Matthew serves as a director for both the National Association of REALTORS® and the New York State Association of REALTORS®.
While Matthew's hectic work schedule is challenging, it is important to him to contribute a considerable amount of time to local organizations and fundraisers. He has worked tirelessly for local charities, serving on committees and hosting as the outrageously highest-earning fundraiser auctioneer for The Family Service League, The Morgan Center, Habitat for Humanity, The American Cancer Society and many more. He has built wheelchair ramps and houses across the island with Rebuilding Together Long Island and Habitat for Humanity. In 2007, he was part of the LIBOR/NYSAR team of volunteers who traveled to Louisiana to help rebuild homes destroyed by Hurricane Katrina, through the Habitat for Humanity Global Village program.
For his dedication to his industry and the community he serves, Matthew was recognized by LIBOR with the REALTOR® Spirit Award in 2008 and the REALTOR®-Salesperson of the Year in 2015.
As an active member and participant of the community, Matthew brings his diligence, compassion and unwavering commitment to not only his career, but to everything that he is involved in. He looks forward to bringing this passion to his new position, as your 2020 LIBOR President.
