Peter J. Goodman has been a practicing attorney for over 28 years. He is a partner at Berger, Fischoff, Shumer, Wexler & Goodman, LLP a full-service law firm with offices across Long Island and New York City where he is head of their real estate department.
Mr. Goodman has represented thousands of buyers and sellers of real estate over his career as well as religious organizations, real estate brokerages, and lenders. Mr. Goodman is a certified instructor and a regular trainer for continuing legal education for attorneys and continuing education for real estate agents. He often presents on important real estate topics for many organizations including the Long Island Board of Realtors, numerous real estate podcasts, title companies, and real estate brokerages. Mr. Goodman authored a cover article for the Nassau Lawyer entitled “Keeping up with the Latest Reforms in Foreclosure Litigation” and a Suffolk Lawyer article entitled “Protecting Tenant’s Rights at Foreclosure.” He has been quoted in the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, the Long Island Business News, and New York Newsday. Mr. Goodman is a current and/or former member of the following organizations: The Academy Charter School, Board of Trustees; Long Island Board of Realtors Staff Instructor; Long Island Housing Crisis Task Force; New York State Coalition For Excellence in Homeownership Education; Brooklyn Bar Association; Nassau County Bar Association; United States District Court-Eastern District of New York; Treasurer for the Town of Hempstead Democratic Committee.
