"New York City Mayor Eric Adams is facing federal charges of bribery, fraud and soliciting a political contribution from a foreign national, according to an indictment that was unsealed on Thursday — a historic circumstance that comes after a monthslong investigation," reported NPR, with link to read the full indictment yourself.

Mayor Adams (D) has maintained his innocence and refused calls to resign over these allegations, but there are two ways to remove the New York City mayor: by the powers of the governor, or with the vote of a committee defined in the city charter that includes the City Comptroller and Council Speaker.
