NYC 2025: Trump Admin. Says Drop Charges Vs. Adams; Goldman Backs Myrie

Feb 12, 2025

"In a memo Monday, Justice Department officials directed prosecutors to drop Adams’ federal case. Adams was charged in September with bribery President Donald Trump wire fraud, and solicitation of contribution by a foreign government," reported PIX11 News. "The case can be reviewed again after the 2025 mayoral election, according to the memo. President Donald Trump previously said he would consider pardoning Adams once in office."

"An exclusive poll from PIX11 News, Emerson College, and The Hill shows that 49% of voters said they would oppose the Justice Department dropping Adams’ corruption case. Some 27% of voters said they support the case being dropped, and another 24% said they have no opinion."

Meanwhile, State Senator Zellnor Myrie (D-Central Brooklyn) was endorsed by US Rep. Dan Goldman (D-Lower Manhattan, NW Brooklyn), slamming the Trump/Adams relationship, while possible mayoral candidate and former Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) faced new questions about his political and legal baggage.
