Polling in a strong second in the NYC mayoral Democratic primary, State Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani (D-Astoria) held a press conference in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn to announce his homeownership plan:
-Creating the Office of Deed Theft Prevention
-Fixing the property tax system
-Ending tax lien sales
-Supporting first-time buyers
-Helping owners comply with Local Law 97
"Home ownership is out of reach for too many. And those who do own face rising costs and predatory scams. I saw these challenges up close as a foreclosure prevention counselor. As Mayor, I'll make city government work for you," said the Democratic Socialist from Queens.
