LIBOR’s Global Business Council Earns Prestigious Platinum Global Achievement Award from NAR

Oct 21, 2025

The Global Business Council of Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR) has proudly been named a Platinum Global Achievement Program Award honoree by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). This distinguished recognition celebrates LIBOR’s exceptional commitment to advancing global real estate opportunities and setting a new standard of excellence within the REALTOR® community.

Among more than 130 global business councils across the country, the Platinum designation places LIBOR’s Global Business Council among the most accomplished organizations recognized for their leadership in global business development, member engagement, and international collaboration.

The NAR Global Achievement Program honors associations that demonstrate exceptional activity in areas such as business planning, marketing, communications, education, and international outreach. The Platinum Award signifies the highest level of achievement, recognizing associations that consistently set the benchmark for excellence.

In 2025, LIBOR’s Global Business Council continued to make significant strides in promoting international real estate and creating meaningful opportunities for members to engage in the global marketplace. The Council hosted a full Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) Institute as part of Global Success Month, supporting members in earning a prestigious designation that positions them for global success. LIBOR also expanded its popular “Going Global” webinar series, featuring experts representing markets in Nigeria, Spain, Mexico, Thailand, Malaysia, and Italy. These programs provided members with valuable insights into market conditions, cultural norms, and business practices around the world.

LIBOR strengthened its international partnerships by signing new Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with the Asociación de Promotores Inmobilarios de la Provincia de Alicante (PROVIA) in Spain, the Singapore Estate Agents Association (SEAA), and the Indonesian Real Estate Broker Association (AREBI). The association also led outbound trade missions to Spain, Canada, and the Dominican Republic, where members met with international real estate professionals, toured properties, and developed cross-border business relationships.

At home, LIBOR welcomed inbound delegations from Mexico, the Philippines, and Thailand to its Global Committee meetings, where international partners shared market insights and investment trends with members. The Council also hosted international networking events, including its annual Lunar New Year Celebration and the inaugural Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration, furthering cultural exchange and community engagement.

This marks LIBOR’s fifth consecutive Platinum Global Achievement Award, following Gold-level recognition from 2017 through 2020 and Silver Awards in 2015 and 2016. The award will be presented during NAR NXT, The REALTOR® Experience, held in Houston, Texas, in November 2025.

As LIBOR looks ahead, its Global Business Council remains dedicated to expanding programming, strengthening partnerships, and promoting Long Island as a dynamic, globally connected real estate market. On November 7, 2025, LIBOR, alongside ten other regional associations, will co-host the 19th Annual Global Real Estate Summit NYC at Fordham University School of Law, bringing together global real estate leaders to explore emerging trends and opportunities in international business.
